SLJ, A House is Not a Home- Day 2, Activity 3

A project that interested me was the "Conserving the Tonkin snub-nosed monkey in Vietnam".

The reason that this project interested me was because this monkey is critically endangered. I also chose it because I love animals and when I grow up I want to work with Mammals. I think it is so good that is is now illegal to kill or trade this monkeys as they are now protected by law in Vietnam. I really hope that the numbers go up even more.

  1. Hi Caitlyn

Great work with this activity. I can see that you are passionate about the conservation of these animals. This is such a cute monkey. It is great that the law has been changed to stop the trading of these monkeys.
A good place for you to start would be looking for a job at somewhere like Orana Park in Christchurch to get experience. That would be amazing.

It is great that you want to work with animals in the future, they will always need people like you to protect them.

    Well done Caitlyn

    Until next time

    Allie :)

    1. Hello Allie,

I have been to the Orana Park before and it was amazing! I have also been to the Orana Park. I have been a Junior keeper before, that meant I got to get some experience of what it is really like to look after all the animals. We had to pick up the poo of the lemurs and clean out the tortoises tanks and feed the eels. I really enjoyed it!

      Caitlyn, :)
