SLJ, Fantastic Beasts- Week 1, Activity 1, Day 3

Here is my beast I have drawn. It is called a Spring Devil.

  1. Hello Caitlyn,
I am Vitaraag. Your beast sounds like a really furious devil. If it was real I would want to see it so bad. Would you see it if it was real? I would. Maybe next time you could make the writing more clear because it was kind of hard to read. Keep up the good work!

    1. Hello Vitaraag,

I do think i would want to see this beast if it was real just to see how scary it looks in real life, but I wouldn't really like to be swimming with it.

      Caitlyn :)

  2. Kia Ora Caitlyn,
This seem like a very bizarre, crazy and odd monster, but it's great. The weirder, the merrier! I would absolutely love to see it in real life if it did exist. I like the description of it feeling rubbery and smelling like chlorine, it is so descriptive. I said my monster looked like a cuddly bear, but when you hugged it it turned into a beastly creature. I think you will enjoy reading it like I did on yours.

Why did you name your creature Spring Devil?

  3. Hello Gargee,

Your beast that you have made sounds quite scary! I wouldn't want to hug it! Basically I named it the Spring Devil as it is quite as devilish creature and it also only comes up to the surface in spring.

    Caitlyn :)

  4. Hi Caitlyn

This is a really awesome creation of your fantastic beast. I think it would live very well in the world of the fantastic beasts. I am sure that Newt would agree with me.
I really enjoyed reading all about your creation. I can just imagine it slithering along the bottom of the ocean.
Why would it use its legs? Would it be chasing something or someone or would it be running away from something or someone?
I don't really like the smell of chlorine so I wouldn't want to get to close to this beast.
How long do they live for? It must be lonely on the bottom of the ocean.

    Great work.

    Until next time

    Allie :)

    1. Hello Allie,

The Spring Devil uses its legs for both chasing its prey and also running away from its predators.

Spring Devils can live up to 10 years in the wild. If they were in captivity they would live for up to 6 years.

They do get a bit lonely but they don't really mind as they spend most of their time hunting for food.

      Caitlyn, :)

Thanks for your positive, thought and helpful comment on my work.
