SLJ, The Secretive Skink- Day 3, activity 2

One of the activities for day 3 was "The Secretive Skink"

Pros about being a Doc Ranger-
  1. You would get to spend a lot of time outdoors
  2. Learn lots about the environment & Nature
  3. Senior doc rangers can earn from $56,000 to $89,000 a year

Cons about a Doc Ranger-
  1. Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  2. A lot of the time you are working alone
  3. Usually work regular business hours, but may also work evenings and weekends

I don't think I would like to be a Doc Ranger, because of some of those reasons. I wouldn't like to work on rainy days out in the bush.

  1. HI Caitlyn
I support all of your good and bad reasons because I think their all true. Be sure to come check out my blog please.

    Blog ya later:)

    1. Hi Jess,

Thanks for commenting on my blog, I would NOT want to work out in the rain.

  2. Hi Caitlyn

Sounds like you definitely know what you want and don't want to do. I don't think there would be many people who would like to work in the rain. And I suppose that they don't always have to work in the rain. They would also have inside jobs that needed to be done.
But working with some of the animals would be the most rewarding job that you could do. Imagine if you got to help at saving a particular species from extinction. That would be amazing.
I would like to work with the Kakapo bird. I think that would be amazing. As there is not many of them them left. Do you know the story of Sirroco. He is a hand raised kakapo that now lives on his own island. He went missing for a while and they did not know where he was. But he is back now and as cheeky as ever. Watch this clip.

If you could choice an animal to work with which one would it be?

Hope you are having a good day and the holidays are going well!

    Keep up the good work!

    Until next time

    Allie :)

    1. Hello Allie,

It would be great to save any animal from extinction! I would love to work with the kea as they are such cheeky animals and it would be great to work with one up close as well.

      From Caitlyn,

Thanks for your positive, thought and helpful comment on my work.
