SLJ, The legend of New Zealand, Day 1, Activity 1

My Favourite fun facts about New Zealand,

  1. New Zealand holds the record for the tallest freestanding structure in the southern hemisphere. That is the Auckland Sky Tower
  2. New Zealand is apart of the "Ring of fire". The most active volcano is found in the middle of the North Island, which is Mount Ruapehu.
  3. Aotearoa is the maori name for New Zealand. Aotearoa means "Land of the long white cloud"

  2. Hi Caitlyn

Thanks for telling me you three facts. It is great that you have posted these in your own words. This is exactly what you needed to do.
The Auckland Sky Tower is a pretty impressive structure. Have you been here?
When I went to Auckland, we went up the tower. I was a bit funny about standing on the glass floor at the top. It made me quite nervous. It was strange looking down to the street below with the cars and people going by.
If you haven't been you should put this on your list of places and things to visit.
I like that Aotearoa stand for the Land of the Long White Cloud. I think it is a great way to describe us as a country. We really do look like a cloud.

Well done with this activity. Keep up the great work and I look forward to reading your next one.

    Until next time

    Allie :)

    1. Hello Allie,

Yes, I have been to the sky tower before and it is incredible! When I stood on the glass floor and looked down my tummy started to churn and I got a bit nervous as well. Also when we were up there we saw people jumping off the sky tower. That was impressive that someone would want to jump from a height like that.

      Caitlyn :)
