Book Character Day 2018

Jess B and Kurt organised a Book Character Day for us at the end of Term 3.  It was the first book character day we have had at our school for at least 8 years, probably longer!!!

Everyone loved dressing up and I think we can safely say this is an event that everyone wants to have again next year!  We had games, a parade and prizes for dressing up the most like your character or putting in heaps of effort.

Don't open the box story

Don't Open The Box

It all started when I opened that stupid box, that said "Do not open this box or else". I knew I shouldn't of, but I still did, and to this day I am still regretting my decision to open that box.

The box itself was secured shut with heavy silver chains around it, but to my surprise it didn't need a key to unlock it. with one kick I got it open. So when I kicked that box open, that changed my life for a couple of minutes, it was unoccupied, but then a couple of seconds later music started to play. I thought to myself " This isn't so bad. But still nothing happened. Then without no warning a adorable pig came out and it started to shake its but in my face and once again without any warning it flicked poo in my face. It did this for about 30 seconds and this it disappeared back into his box.

For some reason I opened the box again, Obviously I had not learnt from opening it the first time, but I still did it....again. This time when I opened it, once again music started to play, but this time it was ice cream truck music, but I saw no ice cream truck. Then I saw a man and he was holding out an ice cream. "Cherry flavoured, ice cream" I was dumb and I took it. "Yum I love cherry" I remember saying. he passed it to me and I took it. I took and took a sizeable bite. I quickly realised that it wasn't "cherry", it tasted like blood, but I thought that kind man wouldn't give me blood flavoured ice cream, so I kept on eating. It wasn't until he started to laugh and say that it WAS blood flavoured ice cream. I chucked the ice cream away and was about to shut the lid when he said that he will get me a actul cherry flavoured ice cream. I said yes, just to get the flavour of blood from my mouth, he was about to give it to me, then BAM, he smashed in my face. I shut the lid before he could stop me.

Book Review- Witch Wars

Book Review: Witch Wars

Author- Sibeal Pounder

Genres: Humor, Fiction, Fantasy Fiction

I loved this book. I love to read books about fantasy and fairies and stuff like that. So this book was right up my alley.

This is the information on the back of the book.
When Fran the Fabulous Fairy turns up in Tiga Whicabim's shed to tell her she's a witch, Tiga doesn't believe her. Or at least not until Fran points out that TIGA WHICABIM is actually an anagram of I AM A BIG WITCH . . . and takes Tiga through the drain pipes to compete in a challenge to crown the next Top Witch of Ritzy City. No one expects a witch from 'above the pipes' to be a serious contender, but soon Tiga and her new best friend, Peggy Pigwiggle, are at the head of the pack! Does one of them have what it takes to win?

Book Review- Elly, My true story of the holocaust

Book Review: Elly, My true story of the Holocaust
Author- Elly Gross

This book was very good. I like to read about world war. It was a bit sad though learning about what the horrible nazis did the the Jews.

This is the information on the back of the book.
When Elly was just 15 years old, she, her mother and brother were deported by cattle car to the Auschwitz II / Birkenau concentration camp. On the day they arrived at Auschwitz, a soldier directed Elly to the right; her mother and brother were sent to the left. She never saw her family alive again. Elly later learned that her father also had been killed in a forced-labor camp.

Book Review- The christmas toy factory

Book Review: The christmas toy factory
Author- Elisabetta Dami

Genres: Fiction, Adventure fiction

Main Characters: Geronimo Stilton, Bing Bong, santa, Mrs Claus, Benjamin

I would give this book an 7/10. The reason I gave it this score was because it was a wee bit boring in some parts. It is not my favorite book out of the series.
